SUSAN D. HARVEY

Susan D. Harvey, 36, of Grinnell died Monday, Sept. 23, 2002, at Grinnell Regional Medical Center. The cause of death is unknown pending the outcome of an autopsy.

A funeral service will be held Friday, Sept. 27, at 10:30 a.m. at Smith Funeral Home with the Rev. Michael Smith, pastor of First Presbyterian Church, officiating. Casket bearers will be Steve Meek, John Moore and Gary, Gene, George and Jeff Shook. Burial will be in Hazelwood Cemetery. Friends May call at Smith Funeral Home beginning at 9 a.m. on Thursday. The family will be present from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday. Memorials may be directed to the Susan Harvey Memorial Fund.

She was born May 18, 1966, in Grinnell, the daughter of Kenneth and Joyce Howard Shook. She was raised in Grinnell and graduated from Grinnell High School with the class of 1984. She was married to David Harvey and the couple lived in Grinnell. The marriage later ended in divorce. She worked for General Telephone and later Iowa Telecom. At the time of her death she was employed in the special-products and recent-change department of Iowa Telecom.

She is survived by one son, Kendell D. Mikkelson of Grinnell; her companion, Loren Mikkelson of Grinnell; her parents, Kenneth and Joyce Shook of Grinnell; two brothers, Larry and Ronnie Shook, both of Grinnell; and her paternal grandmother, Nellie Shook of Grinnell.
