RITES HELD FOR
MRS. JOHN GILMORE

Services for Mrs. John E. Gilmore were held Saturday, December 27, at 2:00 P.M. in the Methodist church, Rev. George S. Snyder was in charge. Mrs. Dean Doonan, accompanied by Alice Underwood sang "The Lord's Prayer" and "Beyond the Sunset." Pallbearers were Floyd Johnston, Evan Johnston, Roger Johnston, Dale Johnston, Clark Hall, and Cecil Brannian. Interment was held in the Jackson Township Cemetery.

OBITUARY

Bertha Maude Johnston, daughter of William and Sarah Johnston, was born on a farm northeast of Montezuma, Iowa on December 19, 1875, and passed away at her home in Montezuma on December 25, 1958, at the age of 83 years.

On June 20, 1900, she was united in marriage to John E. Gilmore in a ceremony that took place in the home of her parents. To this union two children were born. All of their married life was spent in and around Montezuma, except for a year and a half in Montana. In 1932 they retired from the farm and moved to Montezuma.

Mrs. Gilmore was a member of the Montezuma Methodist Church and the Kings Daughters Sunday School Class.

In addition to her husband she is survived by one son, Cecil, Montrose, Calif.; one daughter Leta Hollmann, Montezuma; two granddaughters, Vonda Kelley and Saundra Gilmore, both of Whittier, Calif.; one great grandson, Michael Kelly, Whittier, Calif.; four sisters Sadie Hutchinson, Margaret Hall, Clara Horsford, and Laura Lamond, all of Montezuma; one brother, Elmer Johnston, Montezuma; other relatives and many friends.
