STALLINGS IS SHOT

Jealous Husband Kills Him-Was
Implicated in Horse Stealing Case

Special to the Times Republican
Grinnell, Jan. 11-Word was received here Sunday morning that Marion Stallings, the liveryman of Knoxville implicated in the stealing of “Jim” Norris’ horses, was fatally shot by one Charles Bridges on the streets of Knoxville Saturday evening. Stallings had been suspected of intimacy with Bridges’ wife for some time and was talking to the woman on the street when Bridges came up and shot him three times with a revolver, one bullet passing through the stomach and body. He cannot possibly live. Truly in Stallings’ case, the wages of sin is death.
