Peter Nis Lambertsen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Nis Peter Lambertsen, was born at Heisager, Halk Sogn, at Haderslev, North Slevig, Denmark on Oct 24, 1887. The family came to America when Peter was 4 years of age and settled at Marne, Iowa.

In 1922, Mr. Lambertsen was united in marriage to Anna Rasmussen. To this union two sons were born, Orris of Harlan and Dale of Avoca.

Before marriage, Mr. Lambertsen had been a ranch worker in the western United States. Later, he operated a garage at Oakland, Iowa, for some 10 years, and during World War II he had worked at a bomber plant in Omaha. He moved to Walnut many years ago and resided here at the time of his death. He had been retired for some 9 years.

Mr. Lambertsen had been suffering from a heart ailment and death resulted on Friday morning, Feb. 22, 1957, as the result of a heart attack. He had reached the age of 71 years 3 months and 28 days.

Surviving are his two sons, Orvis and Dale, two brothers, Lou of Omaha and Mike of Wiota, and two grandchildren. Preceding him in death were two brothers who died in Denmark and a baby sister and brother who died in the United States.
