Gen. Grenville M. Dodge, famous soldier and road builder, and the last of the army commanders of the civil war, died at his home at Council Bluffs, from ailments due to old age. He was 84 years old.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he was born April 12, 1831 and died Jan. 3, 1916. He is buried in Walnut Hill Cemetery.
