Jerry Friedmeyer, 77, was born June 26, 1936 in Des Moines, the son of LeRoy and Mildred Friedmeyer. He passed away on January 2, 2014 at Mercy West Lakes in West Des Moines.

Jerry graduated from Urbandale High School in 1954. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and painting around the house, but most of all, he loved spending time with his family and grandchildren.

Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Janice; sons, Scott Friedmeyer of Urbandale and Mark (Jennifer) Friedmeyer of Grimes, and his two grandsons, Matthew and Alexander. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at Hamilton's near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines.
