Halle Frances Siembidea passed away on December 23, 2013 at Taylor House Hospice in Des Moines. The body was cremated. Her memorial service will be at 1 PM Saturday, January 18, in The Well at the Lutheran Church of Hope in West Des Moines.

Halle was a 1984 graduate of Valley High School, West Des Moines. She moved to the Phoenix, AZ area that year to escape the Iowa winters. She worked for several years for Home Depot in Arizona and Des Moines, rising from clerk to employee scheduler and community event planner. Upon her return to Des Moines, she worked as a food service provider at Edgewater retirement community in West Des Moines, and then cared for the elderly living at home by providing home services and companionship.

She is survived by her father, John Siembidea of Des Moines; her mother, Tania Siembidea of West Des Moines; her siblings Debbie, (Miguel Alfaro), Omaha, NE; Tony, Waukee; Greg (Nadine Sechovec), West Des Moines; Adrienne, Shawnee, KS; Joe (Mendy), Urbandale; Rick LeBeau (Debby), Stow, OH; her step-mom Judith Jaastad, Des Moines; 7 nieces and 10 nephews.

The family wishes to thank Halle's in-home hospice nurses and the staff at Taylor House for their compassionate and tender care.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Halle's name to Taylor House Hospice or to the Animal Rescue League of Des Moines.
