Mildred Zonona, 86, passed away October 25, 2013. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 28, 2013 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Brooks Southtown Chapel, 7601 Fleur Drive, Des Moines. Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at 11 a.m. also at Brooks Southtown Chapel.

Mildred was born to Vernon and Kittie Myers on October 1, 1927 in Dodge township, Iowa. Mildred graduated from Bagley High School. She was married to her husband Premo in August of 1947. After the birth of their children, Mildred worked from home doing clerical and typing work. Her experience landed her a job with IPERS, where she worked for 10 years, while maintaining a part time job with Capital City Tire.
Mildred enjoyed traveling, camping, crocheting, and crafting. She also enjoyed attending her children and grandchildren's sporting events.

Left to cherish Mildred's memory is her long time companion, Forest Overton, her children, Michael (Doreen) Zonona and Pamela (Mike) Maulding; grandchildren, Nicholas (Kristen) Zonona, Mathew Zonona and Mariah Maulding; great-granddaughter Isabella Zonona ;her sister, Opal Shipley.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Premo, her parents, and siblings, Earl and Lester.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
