James "Gym" Yeast, 75, died Saturday, October 19, 2013 at his home in Des Moines. A private family service will be held at a later date.

Gym was born December 19, 1937 in Fairfield, Iowa. He graduated North High School in 1956 and in 1963 he married Donna Stover in Des Moines. He was a retired certified dental technician, and had many interests. He was a drummer, enjoyed cartooning and was a car enthusiast.

Survivors include his wife, Donna L. Yeast of Des Moines; daughter, Carrie "Bugs" (Edin) Latovic of Des Moines; grandson, Julian Latovic; sister, Carolyn Luttrell of Topeka, KS; his dogs: Sparky, Wiz and his beloved Mr. Shorty.
