Asghar Kenarangi, 55, died Thursday, October 20, 2011, at Taylor House Hospice in Des Moines from complications of cancer. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, October 27 at Iles Funeral Homes-Grandview Park Chapel, where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Glendale Cemetery.
Asghar was born and raised in Tabriz, Iran and came to the United States to attend the University of Iowa. He lived in Iowa for over 30 years. Asghar worked in human services at Link and Associates for 25 years, where he was known for his hard work and compassion for his clients.
Asghar was an avid football fan, especially when it came to the Iowa Hawkeyes. He loved his family and was a great Dad.
Asghar is survived by his children, Sarah (Terrence) Mitchell of Iowa City, Jeremy Kenarangi of New York City, Adam Kenarangi of Des Moines and Shawna Kenarangi of Boone; his grandchildren, Madison and Isiah Mitchell, and his girlfriend Brendolyn Smith of Des Moines.
Memorial contributions may be made to Taylor House Hospice.
