Claudia Schwitters, 66, died Monday, March 5, 2012, at Bright Kavanagh House in Des Moines, after an eight-year-long courageous battle with cancer. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, March 8, 2012, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines.

Claudia is survived by her fiancé, Ray Sprague; her children: David Wallace, LaVon Howell, and Beckey (Keith) Head; her grandchildren: Alyssa Wilson, Megan Howell, Brandon Howell, and Bryan Head; her great-granddaughter, Faeleigh Ingram; and her siblings: Joe (Gayle) Jenkins, Roxanne (Russell) Riggin, Rosalind (Ed) Freeman, Kevin (Carla) Jenkins, and Stephen Jenkins.
