Stewart Harold Framness passed away after an extended battle with cancer, Saturday, January 14, 2012, at Fountain West Health Center. Stewart was born on June 28, 1929, in Des Moines, Iowa. He was a Roosevelt graduate, attended Drake University and was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. He then served in the Army in Ft. Riley, Kansas before returning to Des Moines where he has since resided.

Stewart had three children with his former wife, Priscilla. He is most known for his love of golf and still played a round last summer where onlookers stood amazed at the ease of his swing. In his younger days, he was a noted City Champion golfer.

Stewart's kind-hearted wit will be the treasured gift left behind and what those close to him will miss the most.

Stewart was preceded in death by his parents, Millard and Beatrice Framness, and his son, Robert Framness. He is survived by his two daughters, Kathy Kramer (Dale) of Dougherty, Iowa, Debra Roberts (Douglas) of LeClaire, Iowa, and four grandchildren, Dylan Framness, Heather Kramer, Calley and Carter Roberts, and a sister, Marilyn Colby (Clark Sr.) of Urbandale, Iowa.

A visitation will be held from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. on Wednesday, January 18, 2012, at Iles Funeral Homes-Westover Chapel, directly followed by a family graveside service at Resthaven Cemetery in West Des Moines.

Memorial contributions can be made to HCI Hospice Care Services.
