Charles Barnes, 48, passed away March 6, 2012, at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines. He was born October 19, 1963, in Des Moines, to John and Blanche Barnes.

Charles enjoyed fishing and being outdoors.

He is survived by his mother, Blanche Wright; son, Jeremy (Amy) Barnes and daughter, Christina (Mauricio) Alvarenga; special friend, Ronda Kingery; brother, Bernard (Pam) Barnes; half-brother, John and half-sister, Penny; step-grandfather, Tom Speakman; four grandchildren; niece, Chloe Barnes; as well as aunts and uncles. Charles was preceded in death by his father, John.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Saturday, March 10, 2012, at Hamilton's near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue, with burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Elkhart. The family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, March 9, at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be given to the family in loving memory of Charles.
