Killed by an Officer
Des Moines, Ia. May 6 – Rufus DeLong went into an east side drug store Friday, ordered a pint of alcohol, refused to pay for it, and walked out with it in his possession. Officer Cook arrested DeLong, but the prisoner broke away, and as he paid no attention to the commands to halt, Officer Cook shot him dead. Cook is under arrest.
