Josephine Arendt

Josephine Arendt, 96, Plymouth county native and lifelong resident, died Wednesday (March 3, 1982) at Plymouth Manor Care Center where she had lived since December 1979.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Mauer Funeral Home in LeMars. Rev. James Ransom will officiate and burial will be in LeMars Memorial cemetery.

Survivors are a nephew, William F. Arendt, and a sister-in-law, Edith Arendt, both of Omaha.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Rose Arendt and Sue Arendt, and two brothers, William and Fred.

Miss Arendt was born Sept. 25, 1885, at Merrill to Peter and Margaret Jeni Arendt. She was a longtime saleswoman in LeMars, at Kehrberg-Schneider department store, Ender-Sampson dress shop and other stores.

She was a lifelong member of the Presbyterian church and a member of various women’s clubs and the LeMars Country club.
