Jane Den Ouden, 94, of Seney, Iowa, died on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at Accura Healthcare of Le Mars.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, November 3, 2025, at the Seney Methodist Church. Burial will follow at the Elgin Township Cemetery, Seney, Iowa. Visitation with the family present will be from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 2, 2025, at Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Le Mars. There will be a Prayer Service at 4:00 p.m. Visitation will resume from 9:30 a.m. until 10:15 a.m. on Monday at the church.

Jane Eva DeVos, the daughter of Joe and Alice (Addink) DeVos, was born on March 8, 1931, in Sioux Center, Iowa. She attended school in Sioux Center.

She was united in marriage to Cornelius ‘Casey’ Den Ouden on June 24, 1950, in Sioux Center, Iowa. The couple made their home in Seney, Iowa. Jane was a homemaker for her husband and children. Casey passed away on April 5, 2008. Jane continued to make her home in Seney.

Jane was a member of the Seney Methodist Church. During their retirement years, Jane and Casey enjoyed spending the summers helping their niece and nephew at the Ivanhoe Resort on Leech Lake, near Walker, Minnesota. She and Casey also enjoyed fishing. In her younger years, Jane enjoyed going bowling. She loved to play Bingo, playing several times a week. Her greatest joy was her family, especially her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.

Survivor include her children: Sharon Olson of Seney, IA, Bruce (Jean) Den Ouden of Le Mars, IA, Deb (Terry) Olson of Seney, IA, Patti (Denny) Harms of Le Mars, IA, and Brenda (Bruce) Erickson of Seney, IA; a daughter in law, Deb Den Ouden of Akron, IA; 13 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren; two sisters: Alice ‘Nupe’ Jeltema of Orange City, IA, and Nel DeGooyer of Maurice, IA; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her father and mother in law, Hildebrant and Kathryn Den Ouden; her husband, Casey Den Ouden; her son, Alan Den Ouden; her son in law, Gene Olson; two grandchildren: Brandon Erickson and Tamara Den Ouden; her siblings: Jack (Dolly) DeVos, Herm (Mert) DeVos, and Marv (Geneva) DeVos; and her in laws, Dan DeGooyer and Jim Jeltema.
