Linda Ann Becker, 79, of Le Mars, Iowa, died on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at her home in Le Mars surrounded by her family.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at the Methodist Church of Le Mars. Burial will follow at Memorial Cemetery in Le Mars. Visitation with the family present will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars. There will be a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will resume from 9:30 a.m. until 10:15 a.m. on Thursday at the church. Arrangements are with the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars.
In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials can be made in Linda’s name to St. Croix Hospice.
Linda Ann Dempster, the daughter of Darrel and Margie (Linderer) Dempster, was born on May 23, 1946, in Le Mars, Iowa. Early on, she lived with her family in Kingsley before moving to the farm in Union Township, Plymouth County, Iowa. She attended school in Kingsley and later at Union Township School.
She was united in marriage to Kenneth Becker on December 5, 1961, in Elk Point, South Dakota. The couple made their home in Le Mars. Linda worked for Aalfs Manufacturing in Le Mars. After Ken returned from the service, she stayed home to raise their family. After they were grown, she went back to work as a Med Aide at the Abbey in Le Mars and later at Plymouth Manor Care Center. She then worked for the Pride Agency in Le Mars until her retirement in 2005.
She was member of the Methodist Church of Le Mars. She was also a member of the Le Mars Firebelles while her husband was serving on the Le Mars Fire-Rescue Department. She enjoyed crocheting and doing needle point. She loved collecting rocks. She always enjoyed a good geo hunt and making jewelry out the rocks that she collected. After their retirement, she and Ken enjoyed wintering in Arizona.
Survivors include her husband, Ken Becker of Le Mars; a son, K.C. Becker Jr of Wamego, KS; a daughter, Rebecca (Jason) Haner of Kihei, HI; 3 granddaughters: Amber Robins of Tempe, AZ, Jade Robins of Phoenix, AZ, and Megan Haner of Tuscaloosa, AL; her brother, Darrel Dempster Jr of Kingsley, IA; her in laws: Pat Harms of Sioux City, IA, Dave Fischer of Le Mars, IA, Richard Becker of Santa Barbara, CA, Walter (Donna) Becker of Le Mars, IA, and James (Susan) Becker of Le Mars, IA; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her siblings: Tom Dempster, Gary Dempster, and Helen Fischer.
