Margaret ‘Midge’ Mary Bollmeyer, 92 of Sloan, IA and formerly of Hinton, IA, passed away on Wednesday, September 10, 2025 at her home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Sioux City, IA. Burial will be at Hillside Cemetery in Merrill, Iowa. Visitation with the family present will begin at 9:30 a.m. and continue until the service time on Wednesday at the church. Arrangements are with Rexwinkel Funeral Home of Le Mars.
Margaret ‘Midge’ Mary Beller was born on October 4, 1932 in Ponca, NE to Joseph and Margaret (Rush) Beller. Their family moved to Sioux City when Midge was young and she graduated from Leeds High School in Sioux City.
Midge married Eldo Bollmeyer on February 5, 1951 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Leeds, IA. The couple raised their family and farmed for many years in the Hinton area, retiring from farming in 1976. Eldo and Midge later moved into Hinton from the farm. Midge worked at Wigman’s in Sioux City after her children were raised. Eldo passed away in 2011 and Midge moved to Sloan in 2017.
Midge was a long-time member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Leeds. Eldo and Midge enjoyed square dancing together for many years. She loved to read and enjoyed watching the news. She loved to cheer on the Iowa Hawkeyes, especially Caitlyn Clark who she continued to follow after joining the Indiana Fever.
She very much enjoyed her family, especially time spent with her 23 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Midge is survived by her son, Al Bollmeyer of Gulfport, MS; daughter, Kathy Hunt of Sloan, IA; 23 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; great great grandchildren; her siblings: Judy (Bill) Dennett and Charlie ‘Chuck’ Beller; sister in law, Claudia Beller; many nieces, nephews, and other extended relatives.
Midge was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eldo Bollmeyer; son, Dean Bollmeyer; granddaughter, Heidi Bollmeyer; brothers: Tom (Marilyn) and Joe Beller; sister, Mary (Jim) Cahill; daughter in law, Paula Bollmeyer; and sister in law, Jane Beller.
Pallbearers will be: Nik Bollmeyer, Rick Beller, Rob Beller, Mike Beller, Bill Beller and Rick Dennett. Honorary Bearers will be: Kenny Beller and Pete Holtgrew.
