Andrew Bogh, prominent farmer, dead at 83
Andrew Peterson Bogh, 83, rural Le Mars, prominent Plymouth county farmer died Saturday, June 6, at Floyd Valley hospital after a 3 day illness.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Mauer funeral chapel with Rev. James Ransom officiating. Burial will be in Le Mars Memorial cemetery under direction of the Mauer funeral home. A prayer service will be in Le Mars Memorial cemetery under direction of the Mauer funeral home. A prayer service will be at 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Mr. Bogh was born July 1, 1886, in Fredonia township, Plymouth county, a son of the late M. P. and Sena (Juhl) Bogh. He married Anna Bredall March 10, 1914, at Elk Point, S. D. He was a lifelong Plymouth county retried livestock and grain farmer.
Mr. Bogh was active in Farm Bureau affairs in the county since its organization. He was a charter member, past president and past member of the board of directors.
He also was past president of the Plymouth county Rural Electric Cooperative Assn and a former director of the Producers commission, Sioux City.
He was a member of Giblem Masonic lodge, Abu Bekr Shrine temple at Sioux City and was active in both organizations when younger.
He was preceded in death by his wife in 1968, three brothers and two sisters.
Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Franz (Sylvia) Schneider of rural Le Mars and Mrs. Jay (Gwendolin) Troxel of Seal Beach, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Gerrit (Celia) Porte of Arlesia, Calif., and Mrs. Edward (Lillian) Dornbusch of Sioux Falls, S. D.; seven grandchildren and three gret-grandchildren.
