CHAS. W. JOHNSON DIES SUDDENLY

Heart Attack Fatal To Akron Man; Rites Are Held Here Sunday

Charles W. Johnson, a resident of Akron vicinity for the past forty-eight years, died in a Sioux City motel on Wednesday night of last week, after suffering a heart attack. He was 71 years, 6 months and 9 days of age.

Mr. Johnson was born in Sweden on April 7, 1886, and came to the United States and Rockford, Ill., at the age of about 18. Five years later he came to Akron. He married Miss Grace Thayer in 1914 at Elk Point, S.D. They farmed west of Akron in Union county, S.D., until he retired.

Survivors besides his wife, Grace, are five daughters, Mrs. Leonard (Ruth) Hansen, of Muskegon, Mich.; Mrs. Kimball (Rose) Johnson, of Detroit, Mich.; Mrs. John (Eva) Frasier, of Sioux City; Mrs. Earl (Elsie) Burnight, of Jefferson, S.D., and Mrs. Laura Callahan, of North Hollywood, Calif.; 27 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held here Sunday afternoon at the Rossow Funeral Home, Rev. Dean Orris officiating. Interment was in Riverside cemetery.
