Note: His mother's maiden name is Offenerde and his ex-wife's maiden name is Mellenbruch.

Carl H. Hitzemann

AKRON, Iowa – Carl H. Hitzemann, 80, Akron, died Thursday in a Sioux Falls hospital.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Trinity Lutheran Church. The Rev. Durwood Clauson will officiate. Graveside rites will be conducted by Hoschler Post 186, Amercian Legion, in Riverside Cemetery. A prayer service will be at 8 p.m. Friday in the Schroeder Funeral Home.

Mr. Hitzemann was born Aug. 7, 1897, in Westfield Township. He was a farmer in the Akron area and a member of Hoschler Post 186.

Survivors include a son, Darrell of Fort Wayne, Ind.; a brother, Adolph of Chatsworth; two sisters, Mrs. George (Bertha) Lammers of Dupree, S.D., and Mrs. Albert (Minnie) Von Hagel of Akron, and two granddaughters.
