The marriage of Miss Olivia Sudtelgte of Remsen, and Mr. Lawrence M. Ahlers of Granville, was solemnized in St Mary’s church Tuesday morning, the Rev. II J. Schieier also performing the ceremony. A large number of friends and relatives attended the mass, and many were entertained at the Sudtelgte home during the day.

The couple were attended by Miss Loretta Sudtelgte, a cousin of the bride, and Tony Ahlers, a brother of the groom. The bride’s dress was white silk Marltyn crepe, and she wore a Venetian veil in cap effect, and trimmed with pearls. She carried a shower bouquet of bridal roses and sweet peas. The bridesmaid wore Canton crepe in the color of ashes of roses, and wore a hat and other accessories to correspond. She carried a bouquet of Ophelia roses.

Following the ceremony the bridal party repaired to the home of the bride’s parents, where a reception was held. Breakfast was served, and at noon a large number of guests were entertained at a three-course dinner. The rooms were decorated in the bride’s chosen colors, which were carried out in pretty effect throughout. The dinner tables were ornamented with smilax and roses. Fifty guests were entertained at the dinner.

The bride is the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Theo. Sudtelgte, and comes from one of the most prominent families in this community. She was born and reared in this community, and is a young lady of many esteemable qualities and who has won the admiration and highest respect of the entire community. She is a graduate of St. Mary’s high school. The groom is a son of Wm. Ahlers of Granville, and is also well known in that vicinity and this vicinity. He is a graduate of a business college at Sioux Falls.

Mr. and Mrs. Ahlers departed Tuesday afternoon on a honeymoon trip, having planned a trip to California and Oregon, to visit relatives at various places in those states. They will spend several weeks in the far west, and on their return trip will stop in Colorado, to visit with the bride’s sister, Mrs. J. W. Becker and family. They will be at home after April 15, on a farm near Granville, owned by the bride’s father.

Those who came from a distance to attend the wedding are: Mrs. J. W. Becker, Ossian, Iowa; Mrs. John Mousel and son Cletus, Dell Rapids, S.D.; Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Vortherm, Adrian, Minn.; and Mr. and Mrs. Ben Vortherm and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Ahlers and children of Dell Rapids.

During the past two weeks the bride was honored at several prenuptial events arranged and carried out by her friends. Principal among these was a miscellaneous shower at the Henry Ahlers home near Granville, where one hundred friends were guests. The evening was spent in dancing, and a splendid two-course luncheon was served. Miss Sudtelgte received many beautiful gifts. Last Wednesday evening she was complimented by another party of friends at the home of her cousin, Miss Loretta Sudtelgte.
