Funeral services for Joel T. Hartmeister were held Wednesday, Feb. 28, 1990 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Pinedale, AZ.

Hartmeister, 74, died of cancer in Phoenix, AZ on Feb. 23. A retired United States Air Force Colonel, he was born on September 10, 1915, in Altamont, Illinois and later married Mildred Meyer of Paullina, Iowa on August 22,1948.

Hartmeister attended High school in Paullina and later went to college at Valparaiso University.

He was a member of many organization, including the VFW, American Legion, Daedalians and Special Forces Veterans of OSS. He also served as a National Security Seminar Administrator and lived in Pinedale for 19 years.

Hartmeister was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Nathan. He is survived by son Frederic Hartmeister of Cheyenne and daughter JoLanne Williams of West Valley City, Utah, sisters Eugenia Mitchell and Rachel Moll, brothers Ruben and Felix Hartmeister and two grandchildren.

Memorial contributions to Our Savior;s Lutheran Church of Pinedale, Valparaiso, Ind, or the American Cancer Society.

Hartmeister was well regarded in the Pinedale area and will be fondly remembered.
