Edward Milton Ehlers (1880-1952)

E.M. (Ed) Ehlers, a prominent farm implement dealer here for many years and a member of the town council for twelve years, died at his home here Friday, December 12, at the age of 63. In poor health for some time, he had been confined to his home for the past month.

Funeral services were conducted from the Presbyterian church at 2:00 o'clock Monday, December 15, with the Rev. L.R. Middents officiating. Interment followed in Oak Hill Cemetery at Chrokee.

Edward Milton Ehlers, a son of Harry and Christine Ehlers, was born February 28, 1880 in Liberty Township, Cherokee County. In 1909 he was married to Elsie Noltze, daughter of Mr.and Mrs. Charles Noltze, Marcus. He was a farm implement dealer in Paullina for many years, and while in business, served twelve years as a member of the town council.

Besides his widow, he is survived by two brothers, George of Sherburn, Minnesota, and Louis, Paullina; three sisters, Mrs. Kate Boldenow, Racine, Wisconsin, Mrs. Mary Tanke, Brookings, South Dakota, and Mrs. Emma Schmidt, Meriden.

Preceding him in death were two brothers, Hiram of Sanborn and Arthur, who died in infancy.

There were more than fifty relatives of the deceased here from out of town, for the services.
