Clyde D. Cummings was born April 26, 1899 in Washington, Iowa, the son of Uriah and Margaret Cummings. He passed away at the age of 66 on August 7, 1965.

He moved to Sanborn in 1917, at the age of 18 years. On February 22, 1924, he was united in marriage to Doris Anderson of Sanborn. They lived in Sanborn and vicinity for 41 years and for 38 years, Mr. Cummings was employed by the Iowa State Highway Commission.

To their marriage were born three children: Jim Cummings of Atlantic, Iowa; Audrey, Mrs. Robert Mulder of Hartley, Iowa; and Marjorie, Mrs. Maurice Gross, of South Gate, California.

In addition to his wife and children, he is survived by his brothers: Bill of Tucson, Arizona; Charles of Council Bluffs, Iowa; Albert of Idaho; and by a sister, Mary of Beresford, South Dakota; and by two grandchildren: Vicki Mulder and Kim Cummings.
