Mrs. Nancy Mustapha, nee Nancy Hulse, daughter of James and Julia Hulse, was born June 16, 1858 at Pecatonica, Illinois, and when but a child she moved with her parents to Poweshiek county, Iowa, traveling in a covered wagon with an ox team.

Here she grew to womanhood, and on November 18, 1879, she was united in marriage to Adolph Mustapha.To this union, eight children were born. In the year of 1899, the family moved to Osceola county, where she has since made her home and where she passed into the Great Beyond on August 22 at 8:15 p.m.

For several years past she was in failing health, but only since April was she obliged to endure intense suffering from which only death could relieve her. The cause of her death was dropsy, coupled with heart trouble and other complications. She had reached the age of 75 years, 2 months, and 6 days.

Six children are left to mourn her death. They are Jerry Mustapha of Elkton, South Dakota, Mrs. Maude Stowalter of Elkton, South Dakota, Mrs. Nellie Lorch of Hartley, and William, John, and Mary Mustapha, at home. Her husband, one daughter, and one son preceded her in death. She also leaves five grandchildren, two sister, Mrs. J.C. Bracy of Belle Plaine, Iowa and Mrs. Betsy Dillsaver of Brooklyn, Iowa, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted Thursday at the home at 1:15 p.m. and in the Methodist church of which she was a staunch member, at 2:30. Burial was made in the Hartley cemetery.
