Funeral services for Ronald V. Skubal, 67, West Liberty, were held April 5, 1996 at the First Church United in West Liberty, with the Rev. Calvin Swan, Rev. Ralph Farmer and Rev. Karen Edwards officiating. Barbara Bartelt was the pianist and Kay Wollett sang. Pallbearers were: Scott, Joe, John and Edward Skubal, Shawn Proksa and Mike Zahs. Burial was in the Timberlake cemetery, southwest of Atalissa.

Mr. Skubal died April 2 at Mercy hospital in Iowa City.

The son of Vince and Elsie McBride Skubal, he was born Dec. 18, 1928 in Columbus Junction. He graduated from Cotter high school in 1946 and attended Parsons College in Fairfield. He married Jewel Shaw June 18, 1950 in Muscatine.

For 18 years Mr. Skubal was an employee of Grain Processing Corp, Muscatine, and later the H. J. Heinz Co., Muscatine.

Mr. Skubal was a member of the Mulford Evangelical Free church in Muscatine.

He is survived by his wife; 2 daughters, Chris Poulin, Iowa City; and Vicky Skubal, West Liberty; 2 sons, Rick, Colorado Springs, Colo.; and Randy, Columbus Junction; 2 brothers, James, Letts; and Thomas, Wood City, Calif.; a sister, Esther Keller, Davenport; 5 grandchildren and one great-grandson.
