Dorothy Stalder 1920-1996

Funeral services for Dorothy M. Stalder, 75, Washington and formerly of West Liberty, were held March 15, 1996 at the Eden Funeral Home in Washington, with the Rev. Richard Boyd officiating. Burial was in the Elm Grove cemetery, Washington.

Mrs. Stalder died March 12 at Mercy hospital in Iowa City, following a long illness.

The daughter of Carl and Gertrude Parsons Weinard, she was born Aug. 30, 1920 near West Liberty. She graduated from West Liberty high school. She married Raymond A. Stalder June 10, 1939 in Washington. He died June 1, 1986.

Mrs. Stadler worked at McCleery-Cumming Co. for 27 years.

She was a member of the Women of the Moose in Mt. Pleasant and was a lifetime member of the Demon Booster Club.

Mrs. Stalder is survived by a daughter, Marquita Harris, Muscatine; 4 sons, Robert, Denton, Texas; Jerry, Alburquerque, N.M.; and Richard and Ronald, both of Washington; 3 brothers, Harold Weinard and LaWayne Weinard, both of West Liberty; and Carl Weinard Jr., Rolla, Mo.; 2 sisters and their husbands, Lotene and Bill Poulsen, West Liberty; and Loretta and Angelo Marchesano, Des Moines; 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, a brother and a sister.
