Funeral services for Ruby Estelle Cline, 87, West Liberty, were held March 6, 1996 at the West Liberty United Methodist church, with the Rev. Darwin Moore officiating. Family burial will be held at a later date.
Mrs. Cline died March 3 at Mercy hospital in Iowa City, following a long illness.
The daughter of Chester and Beulah Forman Presley, she was born April 14, 1908 in Haskell, Texas. She attended West Texas State College in Canyon, Texas. She married Hubert Dow Cline Nov. 10, 1929 in Tucumcari, N.M. They moved to West Liberty in 1937 and established the H.D. Cline Co. Mr. Cline died in 1959.
She was a member of the West Liberty United Methodist church, the United Methodist Women, the Fortnightly Literary Club, and the West Liberty Garden Club. She had served as superintendent of the flower and plant department of the Muscatine County Fair and as a director on the Simpson Memorial Home board. She was past chairman of the Muscatine County Democrats.
Mrs. Cline is survived by 2 sons and their wives, William and Kay Cline, and Robert and Karel Cline, all of West Liberty; a sister, Pauline Brown, Canyon, Texas; 6 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, a granddaughter, a great-grandson and 2 sisters.
Memorials may be made to the West Liberty United Methodist church or the West Liberty Rescue Unit.
