Funeral services for Rex A. Oveson, 61, Moscow, were held March 7, 1996 at the United Methodist church in Wilton, with the Rev. Paul Pennington officiating. Kathy Luethye was the organist and pallbearers were Bruce and Neal Rabedeaux, Ron and Rex Oveson, Bob Coss and Jerry Atkinson.

Mr. Oveson died March 4 at this home in Moscow.

The son of George and Vera Godske Oveson, he was born June 5, 1934 in Wilton. He married Betty L. Riz-Saylor Feb. 7, 1975 in Rock Island, Ill.

Mr. Oveson was a retired heavy equipment operator at the University of Iowa in Iowa City. He loved to hunt and fish.

He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1954 to 1958.

Mr. Oveson is survived by his wife; 3 daughters, Velda (Mrs. Mike) Weikert, Muscatine; Valerie (Mrs. Mike) Hogan, Sioux City; and Vicki (Mrs. Merle) Erickson, Arlington, Texas; a son, Greg Saylor, Muscatine; and 3 sisters, Marianne (Mrs. Harry) Weiler, Monterey, Calif.; Joyce (Don) Shuger, Moscow; and Beverly (Mrs. W. R. "Bill) Rabedeaux, Wilton. He was preceded in death by his parents.
