Funeral services for Louis P. Warner, 88, Atalissa, were held Oct. 30, 1993 at the West Liberty Chapel of the Barker Funeral Home, with the Rev. Darryl Torrin officiating. Les VerHelst was the organist and Donald Thompson sang. Pallbearers were Donald Hass, Brent Stankee, Scott Skubal, Roy Yeggy, Charles Pierce and Joe Ryan. Burial was in the Timberlake cemetery, southwest of Atalissa.

Mr. Warner died Oct 26 at the Muscatine Care Center, following an extended illness.

The son of George and Emma Riefe Warner, he was born March 6, 1905 in Dixon. He was a retired farmer and was in the oil business in Tipton, Durant, Wilton and Atalissa. For the past several years he had refinished furniture. He enjoyed fishing and was an avid card player.

Mr. Warner is survived by 3 sisters, Mrs. Inez Hass, Wheatland and Mrs. Elaine Nichols and Mrs. Mabelle Kilborn, both of Lansing, Mich. and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and 4 sisters.
