Funeral services for Leola M. Gregg, 84, West Liberty, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 22, 1993 at the West Liberty Chapel of Barker Funeral Home, with burial in the Oak Ridge cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 21.

Mrs. Gregg died Oct. 18 at Mercy hospital in Iowa City.

Leola Spinden married Robert Gregg in 1934 in West Liberty. They farmed 1/2 mile west of West Liberty on property which later became the Country Heights housing addition. The couple moved to a farm 4 miles south of West Liberty and then retired after 48 years on the farm.

She attended classes for 2 years at the University of Iowa in Iowa City.

Mrs. Gregg was a life member of the Christian Science church in Iowa City and a member of the Cedar Valley Community Club. She was active at the West Liberty Meal Site, sang with the Swinging Seniors and she had bowled.

She is survived by her husband; a daughter, Carolyn Nichols, Aiken, S.C.; 2 sons, Conrad, West Liberty and David, Nichols; 4 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; a sister, Betty Ann Ralston, Fullerton, Calif.; and a brother, Clifford Spinden, West Liberty.
