Funeral services for Ruby I. Ellyson, 106, West Liberty, will be held at 2 p.m. today, Wednesday, Oct. 6, 1993 at the West Liberty United Methodist church, with the Rev. Darwin Moore officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Ridge cemetery, West Liberty.

Mrs. Ellyson died Oct. 3 at Simpson Memorial Home in West Liberty, following a long illness.

Ruby Lewis married Chester Ellyson in 1920 in Springdale. She graduated from the former Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls.

She had taught school in Cedar county and West Liberty, and was the Cedar County Superintendent of Schools from 1911 to 1915.

Mrs. Ellyson was a member of the Methodist church, a charter member of Osman Woman's Auxiliary to the Twin-Cities Shriner's Hospital for Crippled Children, a life member of St. Paul Chapter of Order of Eastern Star; and an honorary member of Como Aristonian Study Club.

She is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Harry and Desda Lewis, West Liberty; and 4 nieces, Helen Jean Eichelberger, West Liberty; Betty Lewis, Aurora, Colo.; Shirley Dickinson, Iowa City; and Charlotte Elliot, Recluse, Wyo.
