COHEN, CALDWELL, SHUGER, WHITE, ROSEMONT

Funeral services for Edward Cohen, 90, father of Betty (Mrs. Leo) Shuger, Wilton, were held at Muscatine Dec. 2, 1991, with the Rev. Robert Ahlstrom, chaplain at Lutheran Homes, officiating. Burial was in Greenwood cemetery. Pallbearers were Stephen, Michael, Jared, Gregory and Benjamin Shuger and Timothy White.

Mr. Cohen died at Lutheran Homes, Muscatine, Nov. 29.

The son of Max and Clara Cohen, he was born in Russia Feb. 20, 1901. He came to the United States in 1909. He lived in Burlington from 1909 to 1923. He married Hazel Caldwell in Burlington March 21, 1923. The couple moved to Muscatine in June, 1924. He worked for the J. C. Broud's store as manager of the clothing department until the store closed in 1952. He then operated a clothing store in Muscatine until he retired in 1963.

He spent most of his life in Muscatine, except for 4 years in Wilton before moving to Lutheran Homes.

He is survived by his daughter, Mrs. Shuger; 2 grandsons, Stephen and Michael Shuger, Wilton; a granddaughter, Lori (Mrs. Timothy) White, Wilton; 8 great-grandchildren and 2 sisters, Dorothy Rosemont and Sarah Cohen, Maywood, Ill.

He was preceded in death by his wife in 1983; a son, Donald in World War II; a brother, a sister and a great-grandson.
