Final rites for Albert Hazen, 70, were held at St. Mary's Catholic church, Nichols, Oct. 7, 1991, with burial in the church cemetery. Mr. Hazen died at Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Iowa City, Oct. 3.

The son of Cleve E. and Julia M. Zybarth Hazen, he was born in Nichols March 29, 1921 and married Dorothea Polman in Nichols Dec 28, 1946. He was a mill operator at Walnut Grove Co. in West Liberty until 1978.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the army. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic church and the American Legion.

He is survived by his wife; 3 daughters, Renee Mills and Lori Hazen, Nichols and Annette McCrabb, Atalissa; 4 sons, Tom, Mike and Charlie, Nichols and Denny, Atalissa; 2 brothers, Raymond, Atalissa and Wayne, Davenport; 3 sisters, Loretta Hahn, Muscatine; Alberta Valett, Durant and Betty Ament, Cedar Rapids and 11 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother.
