From Monday's Muscatine Journal - Mrs. Mary Ann Byrne, aged 66 years, a long time resident of this county and the mother of nine children, lies dead at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Healey, of Bloomington township, the result of injuries sustained by her in a run away, which occurred on Friday last. Mrs. Byrne was born in Ireland and came to Muscatine county in 1849, where she had resided ever since. She was a widow, her life's partner having preceded her in death several years ago. She is survived by nine children, all adults, they being: Peter and Frank of Bancroft, Iowa; Mrs. John Healy Urban and Matthew of this county; sisters Urban and Agnes of Troy, N. Y. and Kate and Julia, teachers of schools in St. Louis. The funeral occurred Tuesday morning at 9 o'clock with services appropriate in St. Mathias church. Interment in Seventy-six township cemetery.
