Gus Dahlstrom, 79, Died Friday Morning at Home Near Bethesda
Frans Gustaf Dahlstrom, 79, died Friday morning, October 20, at the Henry Ossian home southwest of Bethesda following an illness of five years duration from complications. Mrs. Ossian was his daughter and had cared for him during his sickness. Funeral services were held in Stanton yesterday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock at the Swedish Mission church with Rev. E. D. Strandberg, Mission preacher in charge of the service. Burial was made in Mamre cemetery. Pallbearers were Erick Franseen, Edwin Carlson, Herman Carlson, Helge Carlson, Almond Ossian and Herman Ossian.
Mr. Dahlstrom was born in Sweden on October 2, 1854. He was married there on March 31, 1876 to Sofia Olafsdotter, who died at Stanton, Iowa on October 13, 1915. They came to this county direct from Sweden and located at Stanton on June 6, 1908. Surviving this union are the following children: Richard Franseen in Sweden, Mrs. Teckia Sodergren in Sweden, Mrs. Ida Johnson of Stanton, Carl Franseen of Wakefield, Nebr., Mrs. Henry Ossian of Stanton, Ivar Franseen of Stanton, E. A. Franseen of Omaha, Nebr., Mrs. Beda Nelson of Stanton. One son, Albin, died at the age of seven years. Mr. Dahlstrom also leaves two brothers, Carl Dahlstrom of Stanton and August Dahlstrom in Sweden. Deceased was a member of the Swedish Mission Church.
