Robert J. "Bob" Harms, 67, of Sioux City passed away on Sunday, Aug. 15, 2021, following a short illness with cancer.

There will be a celebration of life at 4 p.m. on Thursday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Visitation with the family present will be one hour prior to the service. Private graveside services will be at the Onawa City Cemetery.

Fiat Bob was born Jan. 29, 1954, in Onawa, Iowa; he was the son of Robert E. and Betty J. (Collett) Harms. Bob grew up in Onawa and graduated from West Monona High School.

On Sept. 5, 1981, Bob married Nancy Brown. To this union two daughters were born, Sarah and Emily.

Bob farmed in the Onawa area for several years and then was a self-employed car lot owner and painter. He enjoyed meeting with his friends and playing Farkel. He was a connoisseur and collector of art and oriental rugs. Bob enjoyed going to estate sales and auctions. He was loved by all and would help anyone in need.

He is survived by his daughters Sarah McCasland of Wardsville, Mo., and Emily Harms (Shaun Reiff) of North Sioux City; his mother Betty Harms of Onawa; his special friend Lori Uhl of Sioux City; two sisters Beth Harms (Chris Jensen) of Sioux City, and Beverly Harms of Onawa; his niece Annie Harms of Onawa; and three granddaughters Leighton, Rylee, and Eastyn.

Bob was preceded in death by his father, Robert E. Harms; his grandparents; three aunts Mary Ping, Dorothy Bearce and Joanne Brenden; and his cat Oscar.
