Ronald “Ron” Eugene Heck, 79, of Onawa, Iowa passed away Sunday, November 14, 2021 at Unity Point Health- St. Luke’s, Sioux City, Iowa.

A Celebration of Life Service will be 6:00 P.M. Friday, November 19, 2021 at the Rush Family Chapel, Onawa, Iowa with Evangelist Dale Wolf, officiating. Burial will be held at a later date. A visitation will be 4:00 P.M. – 6:00 P.M. Friday, November 19, 2021 at the chapel. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service, Onawa, Iowa.

Ronald Eugene was born July 23, 1942, in Sioux City, Iowa, the son of Stokley “Buck” Vaughn and Dollie Bell (Anderson) Heck. He graduated from Wentworth Military Academy in Missouri in 1960. After graduation he started farming in 1963 and was a lifelong farmer.

Ron and Janet Kay Beedle were married April of 1960. To this union three children were born, Kevin, Tony, and Lisa.

Ron was a heavy equipment Operator for Heck Construction over 50 years in Salix, Iowa. He enjoyed selling and collecting heavy equipment with the online auctions.

He loved spending time with his family, especially his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. In his earlier years, Ron and Janet enjoyed square dancing, ballroom dancing, and bowling with lots of couples on the weekends. He was also a 4-H leader.

Ron was a past member of the Moose Lodge in Sergeant Bluff, Iowa and a member of the Elk Lodge in South Sioux City, Nebraska. He was a board member at the Farmers Coop Elevator in Salix, Iowa for many years.

Survivors include his wife, Janet (Beedle) Heck of Onawa, Iowa; his children, Kevin (Vickie) Heck of Holstein, Iowa, Tony (Angie) Heck of Salix, Iowa, and Lisa (Steve) Evans of Salix, Iowa; seven grandchildren, Kimberly Heck of Sioux City, Iowa, Kelli Meyer of Dallas, Texas, Kyle (Dana) Meyer of Holstein, Iowa, Trevor Heck of Humboldt, Iowa, Tatum Heck of Salix, Iowa, Tamara Heck of Salix, Iowa, and Haley (Andy) Homan of Elk Point, South Dakota; nine great-grandchildren, Cy Heck, Sam Huddleson, Greyson Homan, Brendan Homan, Jaden Brouwer, Emma Heck, Anna Heck, Adalyn Meyer, and Olivia Meyer; two sisters, Betty Kelly of Denver, Colorado, and Roselyn Fry of Denver, Colorado; brother-in-law, Gary (Shirley) Beedle of Onawa, Iowa; sister-in-law, Janet Beedle of Tekamah, Nebraska; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Stokley “Buck” and Dollie (Anderson) Heck, grandson, Kyle Heck; and brother-in-law, Ronnie Beedle.
