Roger Allen Woodward, 69, of Mapleton, Iowa, son of Everett C. and Mary (Nagel) Woodward passed away Saturday, November 21, 2020 at Burgess Health Center, Onawa, Iowa due to complications with pneumonia.

A memorial graveside service will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, November 28, 2020 in Grant Township Cemetery, rural Ticonic, Iowa with Darren C. E. Goslar officiating. (Social distancing measures must be followed-Due to Covid-19 restrictions- Masks are required.) Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service, Onawa, Iowa.

Roger was born on March 21, 1951 in Onawa and grew up on the family farm in rural Castana, Iowa graduating from Maple Valley High School in 1969. On November 14, 1970 he was united in marriage to Jackie Burkhart, to this union one daughter, Tracey Ann was born. They later parted ways.

He enjoyed fishing, and reading western novels. Roger worked as a traveling welder most of his life.

He is survived by his daughter, Tracey (Rod) Lindblom of Sioux City, Iowa; granddaughter, Payton Dobrovolny of Huxley, Iowa; siblings, Sharon (Mike) Clayton of Salix, Iowa, Harry (Jackie) Woodward of Battle Creek, Iowa, Bernie Woodward of Rodney, Iowa, Karla (Dave) McGrain of Mapleton, Iowa, Kristi (Brice) Bollin of Anthon, Iowa, Helen Woodward of Rodney, Iowa; aunts, Darlene Woodward of Mapleton, Iowa, June Woodward of Sioux City, Iowa, and Jean Woodward of Wichita, Kansas; uncle, Don (Sue) Woodward of Castana, Iowa; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Everett C. and Mary (Nagel) Woodward; his brother, Larry; his great nephew, Taylor Mohr; his grandparents, Karl and Evelyn (Hall) Nagel and Russell and Blanche (Beers) Woodward; aunts and uncles, Harold Nagel, Elwood Nagel, Marilyn Woodward, E. B. Woodward, Lyle and Arlene Woodward, Mel and Myrna Woodward, Rolland Woodward, Jerry Woodward, Ava Woodward, Joe Woodward, Annie Woodward; and numerous cousins.
