Dwight L. Nuzum, 77, of Mondamin, Iowa passed away Friday, May 14, 2021 at Burgess Health Center, Onawa, Iowa.

A memorial service will be 10:30 A.M. Thursday, May 20, 2021 at Nealy Hall, Little Sioux, Iowa with Pastor Jerry Swanberg officiating. (Please bring and wear masks). Burial will be in the Little Sioux Cemetery, Little Sioux, Iowa. Visitation will be 6:30 - 8:30 P.M. Wednesday, May 19, 2021 with a prayer service at 7:30 P.M. at Nealy Hall. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service, Onawa, Iowa.

Dwight Leo was born July 28, 1943 at home west of Pisgah, Iowa, the son of Ben and May (Losh) Nuzum. Dwight married Anita Swanberg on July 10, 1964 in Pisgah, Iowa. To this union two children were born, Teddy Lee and Tony.

Dwight lived west of Pisgah until he sold the acreage and moved in with Lee south of Mondamin. Dwight farmed for many years, getting out of farming in the late 1980s. He and Anita then worked for Lee in his construction business. Dwight retired in 2008, but continued to help Lee and Tony by keeping up bookwork.

Survivors include his children: Lee Nuzum of Mondamin, Iowa; and Tony Nuzum of Council Bluffs, Iowa; five grandchildren: Brian (Dana) Nuzum of Elkhorn, Nebraska; Ben Nuzum of Moorhead, Iowa; Landyn Nuzum of Oshkosh, Wisconsin; Breanna (Hunter) Williams of Urbandale, Iowa; and Grant Nuzum of Council Bluffs, Iowa; one great-grandchild: Taylin Nuzum of Elkhorn, Nebraska; brother-in-law: Eugene Christensen of Pisgah, Iowa; sisters-in-law: Lavone Stewart of Missouri Valley, Iowa; and Gardena Wallis of Little Sioux, Iowa; brothers-in-law: Joe Swanberg of Little Sioux, Iowa; Martin McColley of Little Sioux, Iowa; and Jerry (Wanda) Swanberg of Ankeny, Iowa; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Anita (Swanberg); parents, Ben and May (Losh) Nuzum; sister: Karen; brothers: Loyal and Laverne; sisters-in-law: Alice Swanberg, Phyllis Christensen, Violet Bothwell, Joanna Nuzum, and Wanda McColley; and brothers-in-law: Maurice Stewart, Virgil Wallis, Vernon Christensen, and Gene Bothwell.
