17 February 2021Clara “Elaine” Klein-Gruber, 77, of Rodney, Iowa passed away Saturday, February 6, 2021 at MercyOne Siouxland Medical Center, Sioux City, Iowa.
Per Elaine’s wishes, cremation has occurred and no services are being planned. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service, Onawa, Iowa.
Clara “Elaine” Klein was born in Scobey, Montana on December 1, 1943 the daughter of Glenn Andrew Sr. and Gloria Eunice (Beeks) Klein. She graduated from high school in Fremont, Nebraska in 1961.
Elaine worked at Gateway Computers, MCI and had her own doll making business. She made ceramic and porcelain dolls, with hand painted faces and beautiful hand made Victorian clothes.
She enjoyed attending antique auctions, gardening, flowers (especially Iris), and her cats. Elaine was a member of the Red Hat Society, gardening clubs, and was a past mayor of Rodney, Iowa.
Survivors include her husband, Frank Gruber of Rodney, Iowa; brother, Glenn “Andy” Klein of Little Sioux, Iowa; sisters, Judi (Terry) Holdren of Harlan, Iowa, Linda (David) Beckman of Alamogordo, New Mexico, Nancy Collier of Selma, California, Peggy Meyers of Little Sioux, Iowa, Terri McCord of Harlan, Iowa; special friends, Carmen and Frank Carda of Rodney, Iowa; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Glenn and Gloria Klein; sister, Carol Ruble; two brothers, Garry Lee and Randy Jo; and two brothers-in-law, Joe Meyers and Patrick Cherini.
