Mabel A. Parr
Mabel A. Parr, 92, of Onawa, Iowa, passed away March 9, 1984, at Burgess
Memorial Hospital, Onawa, Iowa.
She was born, April 27, 1891, at Rodney, Iowa, to Reason and Emma Jane Butcher Ingram. On April 27, 1910, she was in marriage to Amos S. Parr at Onawa, Iowa. He died March 15, 1969, at Onawa. They farmed in Monona County for a number of years then moved to a farm in Harrison County. She then moved to Onawa residing at Center Heights for the past several years.
Survivors include: four sons, Glen of Pisgah, Ia.; Gene of Soldier, Ia.; Charles of Onawa, Ia.; and Ivan of Neleigh, Nebr.; two sisters Mrs. Olive Smith, Crete, Nebr.; and Mrs. Mildred Kron, Mondamin, Ia.; one brother, Harold Ingram of Whiting; 16 grandchildren; 42 great grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son, Harold; one sister, Goldie; and three brothers, Elmer, Cliff and Roy.
Services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 12, 1984 at the United Methodist Church at Onawa with Rev. Herbert Foxworthy officiating. The organist, Mrs Robert Oehler, accompanied Mrs Fred Gibson who sang "How Great Thou Art" and "In The Garden"
Bearers were Richard Parr, Lyle Parr, Lynn Parr, David Parr, Arthur Parr, Paul Parr, Jack Parr, Larry Parr and Russell Parr.
Interment was in Grant Township Cemetery at Rodney, Iowa, with arrangements by the Pearson Funeral Home, Onawa, Iowa.
