EVELYN NAGEL

Mapleton, Iowa--(Buried Smithland) Evelyn Nagel, 91, of Mapleton died Wednesday, Sept 19, 1990, at a hospital in Onawa after a long illness.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church in Ticonic with the Rev. Steven Root and the Rev. Gary Armstrong officiating. Burial will be in the Smithland Little Sioux Township Cenetery. Visitation will be today with a prayer service at 7 p. m. at Willman Funeral Home in Rodney.

Mrs. Nagel, the former Evelyn Hall, was born July 24, 1899, on a farm near Smithland, the daughter of William and Mary Ann (Fox) Hall. She attended country school near Smithland and graduated from Smithland High School in 1918. On Aug. 2, 1919, she married Karl Nagel of Grant Center. The couple lived on a farm near Grant Center until 1958 when they moved to Mapleton. He died May 16, 1975.

Survivors include a son, Elwood H. of Mapleton; a daughter, Mary Elaine Woodward of rural Castana; a sister-in-law, Ella Nagel of Hornick; a brother-in-law, Harold Langdon of Omaha; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
