In the death of Mrs. Harvey Halsey, Union has lost one of its oldest settlers.

He, with his three children, having located in 1857, on the land now occupied by Mrs. W. F. White and Mr. Hill and David Rogers. He was a kind and obliging neighbor; and although he has been away from us for a number of years, yet he is held in kindly rememberance by all of the old settlers, of Union.

He was buried in Stacyville on Monday the 10th.
