Hold Services for Steelman
Funeral for Little Cedar Man
Held at First Baptist Church

LITTLE CEDAR, IOWA - Funeral services were held in the Little Cedar First Baptist church at 2 p.m. Thursday for Charles Steelman, 82, retired farmer, who died at his home here Monday evening.

Charles Steelman was born in Yadkin County, North Carolina, in 1860. He was married to Mary Huff in 1888. They had seven children; one son, Anderson having been killed in service in World War I.

Mrs. Steelman died February 16, 1922, at their farm home three miles west of Little Cedar. Following her death he moved with his daughter, Ethel to his present home in town.

March 20, 1935, he was married to Martha Hill who died on the third anniversary of their wedding. Mr. Steelman was an active worker in the Baptist church during his residence here.

He is survived by four daughters and two sons; Mrs. Fannie Norman, Union; Mrs. Lydia McCann, Maple Plain, Minn.; Mrs. Lula North, Eldora; Mrs. Ethel Risting, Stacyville; Eliza Steelman, Salt Lake City, Utah; Enoch Steelman, Minneapolis, Minn.; one brother, Jody Steelman, New Providence, 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Burial was in the Liberty township cemetery.
