Susan K. Lee, age 70, of Riceville, IA died Wednesday evening, January 31, 2018 at the Riceville Family Care and Therapy Center in Riceville, IA.
Susan was born on July 3, 1947 in Riceville, IA to Charles and LaVonne Marie (Woldrum) Mayer. She graduated from Riceville High School in 1967 and received an Associate’s degree in Business Administration from NIACC. Susan married Jerry Lee on June 24, 1967 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Riceville. For several years she worked in the housekeeping department at the Riceville Nursing Home.
Susan loved shopping, especially rummage sales, traveling, going to Northwood, dancing and listening to music from the 1950s and 60s. For sports interests Susan was a big fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes and Dallas Cowboys. She loved her dogs: Morty and Jenny but most of all she enjoyed being around her two grandsons.
Survivors include her husband Jerry of Riceville; two children: Doug of East Dubuque, IL, and Teri of Dubuque, IA; two grandsons: Brevin and Bradin; six siblings: Donna (John) Adams of Saratoga, IA, Linda (Chuck) Weida of Riceville, IA, Cheryl (Alvin) Knode of Chester, IA, Margaret (Allen) McKenna of Riceville, IA, Rick (Janine) Mayer of Lime Springs, IA, and Mike (Deb) Mayer of Lakeville, MN.
Susan was preceded in death by her father, Charles in 1989 and her mother LaVonne in 2006.
