David Michael Johnson, age 56, of Clear Lake and formerly of Osage, died Tuesday, March 29, 2016, at his home in Clear Lake, after a long battle with heart disease.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 2, 2016, at Rock Creek Lutheran Church, 3269 Foothill Avenue, Osage, Iowa, with Pastor David A. Werges and Diaconal Minister Elayne J. Werges officiating. Burial will be in the Rock Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage.

David was born October 29, 1959, the son of Dean and Mary Johnson. He attended Osage High School. David served in the U.S. Marine Corps for four years. He married Wendy LeDuc, and to this union a son, Eric, was born. They later divorced.

David enjoyed fishing, going out to eat with friends and family, the Minnesota Vikings, and talking to people. He loved his dog, Tinker Bell, and going for walks with her. He also loved spending time with family, and especially loved spending time with his son, Eric.

David is survived by his son, Eric Johnson of Mason City; his father, Dean Johnson of Osage; his sister, Helen (Ken) Burrington of Osage; friend, Wendy Sullivan of Ionia; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Johnson; and his former father-in-law, Bill LeDuc.
