Charles Ellsworth Green – May 17, 1872 – December 2, 1953

CHARLES GREEN PAID LAST RITES HERE

Funeral services were held at Chenoweth Funeral Home Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. for the late Charles Ellsworth Green who passed away at the Cedar Valley Hospital Wednesday night about nine forty five where he had been taken Wednesday forenoon suffering from a heart attack earlier in the morning. He had been ailing for about a week before.

Mr. Green was born at Galena, Illinois on May 17, 1872 and on February 28, 1900 he was married to Myrtle Daisy Knepper at Smithland, Iowa. No children were born to this union but a niece was taken into the home and reared as their own.

In his childhood days he lived in the vicinity of Osage, Iowa and since their marriage they lived in Minnesota and in the Nashua vicinity until 1930 when they retired to their home on Lake Shore Drive where they have lived since.

Survivors include the wife, daughter Clara (Mrs. Joe White) and her daughter Bonnie of Gutenberg; three brothers, Frank Green his twin brother of Cedar Falls; Andrew Green of Clinton; and Rev. Clarence Green of Lodi, California; his wife; Mrs. Myrtle Green and several nieces and nephews.

Rev. J. L. Masemore of the Nashua Bible Center was the officiating pastor.

Casket bearers were nephews of Mr. Green; Bertie Bean; Elmer Green; Harl Crosss; Lavern Stratton; Harry Green; and Earl Stratton. Flower committee were Mrs. Clarence Cleveland and Mrs. George Hoffman. Burial was at Oak Hill Cemetery.
