Mrs. Carrie Solomon, who had been failing for some time, passed away at her home in St. Ansgar, August 27, 1929 following a stroke.

Mrs. Solomon was born September 27, 1855, at Springdale, Dane county, Wisconsin, and was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. In 1876 she was united in marriage to Ole A. Huset and moved to Black River Falls, Wisconsin, where they made their home until Mr. Huset's death.

To this union was born seven children, five of whom survive; Albert of St. Ansgar, Mrs. Matilda Peterson of Mason City, Clarence of Rock Creek, Mrs. Alice Halverson of Rock Creek and Mrs. Effie Johnson of Northwood.

In 1895 she was married to Charles Solomon. To this union was born one child.

Mrs. Solomon has made her home in St. Ansgar the past twenty-five years. She leaves to mourn, besides her children, two brothers, Chris Lundene of St. Ansgar and Gabe Lundene of Lucky Strike, Canada, and one sister, Mrs. O.T. Jeglum, of Adams, N.D., also nineteen grandchildren and eigth great grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted August 27 at 1:15 at the home and at 1:30 at the First Lutheran church. She was laid to rest in the Rock Creek cemetery. The Rev. Olaf A. Langehough officiated.

Those who came from away to attend the funeral included Mrs. John Peterson of Mason City, Mrs. Carl Johnson of Northwood, Chris Lundene and Norris Johnson of Meltonville.

Kari Andersdatter Lundene born September 26, 1855 at Springdale, Dane, Wisconsin to Anders Knudsen Lundene and Olia Knutsdatter Thoen, the seventh of their eleven children. Her siblings were: Knud, Dorothea, Christopher, Guline Isabelle, Gulbrand, Anton, Inger, Gabriel, Ole and Ole, all born at Dane County, Wisconsin.

Found in the 1860, 1870 censuses living at Springdale, Dane, Wisconsin:

1860: Andrew Knudson 40, Olea Knudson 38, Knudt Knudson 16, Christopher Knudson 12, Ingeborg Knudson 10, Anton Knudson 6, Cari Knudson 4, Inger Knudson 2, Gabriel Knudson 6/12, Lars Larson 22.

1870: Olea Lunde 49, Christoffa Lunde 22, Ingeborg Lunde 19, Anton Lunde 16, Kari Lunde 14, Inger Lunde 11, Gabriel Lunde 10, Ole A Lunde 6.

Kari married Ole Andereasen Huset on April 27, 1877 at Dane, Wisconsin. The couple moved to farmland at Jackson, Wisconsin where they had 7 children: Belinda, Albert Albert Oliver, Ida Mathilde, Susanna Caroline, Clarence Oscar, Alice Dorothea and Effie Gelina.

Found in the 1880 census living at Northfield, Jackson, Wisconsin: Ole A. Husett 28, Carry Husett 24, Belinda Husett 2, Albert O. Husett 1.

Ole died in 1890. Kari and her children moved to Emmetsburg, Palo Alto, Iowa. She next moved to St Ansgar, Mitchell, Iowa.

Kari married Charles Solomon in 1896 at St Ansgar, Mitchell, Iowa. The couple had one daughter, Nettie Olivia.

Found in the 1910 census living at St Ansgar, Mitchell, Iowa: Charles Solomon 54, Kari Andersdatter Lundene Solomon 56, Nancy O Solomon 10 daughter, should be Nettie.

Found in the 1920, 1925 censuses at St Ansgar, Mitchell, IA. Widowed twice.
1920: Owns home. Kari Solomon 63, Susie Conzewies 15, Hazel Conzewies 14, Orle Conzewies 7, Bessie Conzewies 4, Nettie Johnson 22, Norris Johnson 1, Chris A Lundene 71. (younger children are grandchildren).
1925: Carrie Solomon 71, Orle Conzemius 12, Bessie Conzemius 9, Norris Johnson 6, Adolph Anderson 3. she has 2 grandchildren living with the last name Conzemius and 2 grandchildren that belong to Nettie Johnson, (a Johnson and an Anderson).

Kari Andersdatter Lundene Huset Solomon died August 25th or 26th, 1929 at St Ansgar, Mitchell, Iowa. She was buried at the Rock Creek Lutheran Cemetery, Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa.

Note: I am not 100% sure of Kari’s death date. All the references say August 27th but that was the day of her funeral so I doubt that is correct.
